Adopted from the early television series (1979-1985), the Dukes of Hazzard, (2005) picks up right where the television series left off. True to its original form, the same beloved characters are present along with their action filled fun. The 2005 film is written by John O’Brien (Starsky and Hutch, 2004) and revisions by Jonathan L. Davis. The director of the film is Jay Chandrasekhar (Super Troopers, 2001). The premise of the film follows the lives of cousins Bo, Luke, and Daisy Duke. True to the original plot, Bo, Luke, and Daisy are up to their usual shenanigans eluding public officials with their foul behavior. When the cousins are caught, it is cousin Daisy who mush aid the boys to freedom with her southern charm. Cousins Bo and Luke are accompanied by their 1969 Dodge Charger, which aids them in their attempt to flee officials. The film depicts the trio (Bo, Luke, and Daisy) in their attempt to save the family farm, owned by the Duke family. The farm has been under scrutiny for destruction from the town’s commissioner, Boss Hogg. The film is delightfully entertaining and provides the audience with laughter. Scenes are filled with comedy and action that is sure to entertain all audience members. Avid fans and new fans are sure to be entertained from the action comedy.
