Becoming a doctor is no easy task. Just ask the 5 resident interns on the show
Grey’s Anatomy, who are all struggling to become doctors in an environment that
makes it very hard to maintain any sense of a “normal” life. Together, the 5
interns—Meredith Grey, Cristina Yang, Izzie Stevens, George O’Malley, and Alex
Karev—are embarking on a journey towards becoming doctors. While they used to
be reading out of textbooks, today they are doctors in a real hospital in real
life. The ABC series Grey’s Anatomy, named after Meredith, is a drama/comedy
that chronicles their journey.

Led by their senior resident trainer Miranda Bailey, nicknamed “The Nazi” for
her overbearing ways, Meredith and her four companions learn from Derek
Sheperd, the surgeon who frequently finds himself in flirty situations with
Meredith. The interns range from Izzie, the small-town girl with humble
beginnings, to George, the boy next door-type of guy. Unlike other hospital
dramas though, Grey’s Anatomy focuses more on the relationships established by
the interns than on the work going on within the hospital. Can all of them
successfully become doctors in this trying world of medicine?

Set to resume again this season at 10PM on Sunday nights (ABC), Grey’s Anatomy
clearly contradicts the topics covered in the preceding show, Desperate
Housewives, but instead offers a welcomed change from the sexually based
issues. Those who have been interested in shows like ER will most likely find
that this show covers a similar ground but employs younger actors with more
worries about life. Everyone has wondered about their chosen occupation and
struggled to make it against a “Nazi” of a boss. Most people have had to start
at the bottom and have struggled to climb up the corporate ladder. Join the
cast of Grey’s Anatomy as they try doing the same thing. Becoming a doctor is
no easy task. Living your life can be even harder though.
