Katie Holmes started her career as a lead actress on the WB series Dawson’s Creek, but since that time, her celebrity has risen to epic proportions due to the gossip and rumors that have circled her in the past few years. During the early parts of the new century, Katie Holmes was often spotted around town with American Pie hunk Chris Kline, and when the two finally confirmed that they were an item, Holmes had her first big Hollywood fling. Paparazzi spotted the pair all over town and photographed them together, giving Holmes an identity outside of just the roles that she played on the television screen. Cruise’s outbursts on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” where he professed his love to Holmes, only heightened the excitement around their couple. As of now, Holmes and Cruise are engaged (after a wild proposal in France), though no wedding bells seem to be in the future. With these two though, anything seems to be possible and could happen quickly at any moment. For Katie Holmes though, the gossip and rumors surrounding her and Cruise have only made her star rise this year.
