Currently the darling of the box offices, this follow-up to 2002’s first installment has taken the multiplexes by storm. Starring Jason Statham, who is fast becoming a bit of a golden boy as well golden as a boy can get who specializes in playing villains!!, the movie centres on Frank and his willingness to drive anyone, anything, anywhere. He works for Miami’s Billings family and becomes especially close to the family’s two young sons. When they are kidnapped he goes against the FBI to secure their release in a maverick style beloved of Hollywood..
This action adventure movie has opened to better box office and generally healthier reviews than its prequel, which is fairly unusual in the realms of film sequels, thus showing that in this instance practice does make perfect and that second time round the makers have got it right.

Just surrendering it’s top slot at the US box office but still going strong and now also heading up most worldwide box office tables, is this likeable goofball vaguely romantic comedy. Starring Steve Carell fresh from his stint in the US version of The Office as the eponymous hero, or should that be anti-hero, of the flick. His character Andy Stitzer is a pretty likeable, relatively successful kind of guy, who goes through life without too many worries nor fears. Except that he has reached a certain significant age without ever having done a certain significant act, hence the title. Well work colleagues do as work colleagues do in these circumstances and fix him up with a likely woman, in this case another 40 year old but one with three kids and thus the requisite experience. Friends assume that the deed has been well and truly done upon seeing how well the couple get along, little realizing that they had begun dating with a strict no sex agreement between them.
The movie has opened to enthusiastic and ecstatic reviews and looks almost certain to not only be one of the hits of 2005 but also be one of the great romantic comedies of the era.

This Matt Damon and Heath Ledger has taken money at the box office despite mixed reviews (though none that would be considered downright bad).
The movie has a slightly gothic feel to it as it trails the famous brothers around Europe as they travel from village to village offering enchanted tales and spells as cures to the local populace. In essence they are con-men and charlatans.
However in an enchanted forest they are forced to put their spells to genuine use, and they succeed by using courage. Thus providing themselves with a true tale to tell that mirrors much of the folklore they peddle.
