Your local movie theater is probably the site of many great memories for
yourself, your friends, and your family. In the remaining months of 2005 and
well into 2006, Hollywood is planning a number of exciting movies and feature
films that they are hoping will turn the tides of the movie industry and bring
people back out into the cinemas. Though Christopher Reeve, the original
Superman, passed away last year, Superman Returns is a feature film that
Hollywood is buzzing about as the blue-and-red superhero will return to the
silver screen. Following the success of other comic book flicks, X-Men 3 also
returns to the theaters later on this year. While many of the planned films are
like X-Men 3 or the upcoming Ghost Rider, many new films with original concepts
will also debut in the coming months.

Get Rich or Die Tryin’, the semi-autobiographical of multi-platinum selling
rapper 50 Cent, hits theaters late in 2005 and should prove that rappers, like
in Eminem’s 8 Mile, are huge draws at the box office. Another interesting film
premiering later this year should be Da Vinci Code, which is based on the book
of the same name and should also command the almighty dollar while illustrating
the complex tale.

As Hollywood prepares for a late push into the 4th quarter of 2005, Tinsel Town
is still struggling to regain its footing and stop sliding when it comes to
proceeds from films. Movies like King Kong, Oliver Twist, and Harry Potter and
the Goblet of Fire could potentially be blockbuster films that could help
turn-around the slide. Other films like the video game-based films, Halo,
Hitman, and Resident Evil 4, also prove that Hollywood is branching into other
fields in order to try and capture audiences’ attention. Now, get back out to
the movies and make some memories!
