SpongeBob Squarepants was created by marine biologist Stephen Hillenburg. As the name suggests SpongeBob Squarepants is a cartoon sponge with large blue eyes, dimples and a wide smile. He has very thin arms and legs as wears a white shirt and brown shorts with a red tie. He wears black shiny shoes on his feet.

The cartoon involving SpongeBob Squarepants is quite funny and appleas to people of all ages. In 2004, the SpongeBob Squarepants movie was released by Paramount and it was a huge success. The SpongeBob Squarepants movie won the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers Award in 2005, and was also nominated for seven other awards.

In the television series, SpongeBob is portrayed as a sweet naïve young man with a silly grin on his face. He is usually seen as an annoyance by his neighbor Squidward.

SpongeBob is a bachelor who lives in a hollowed pineapple at the bottom of the ocean. He has a pet snail that meows like a cat.

SpongeBob has a regular job making “Krabby patties” at Krusty Krab’s restaurant. He is responsible for frying these patties. SpongeBob is well known for him cook frying these “Krabby patties” and this was illustrated in the SpongeBob Squarepants movie.

Beyond working, SpongeBob hangs out with his friend Patrick who is a silly starfish. These two will go on adventures together and it is obvious that SpongeBob is the smarter of the two of them. Other than hanging out with Patrick, SpongeBob also likes to spend time with a squirrel named Sandy who has a southern accent and wears an astronaut suit to help her breath under the water.

The SpongeBob Squarepants movie was a continuation of the regular television show. In the movie, Patrick goes with SpongeBob to find and return King Neptune’s crown and they end up becoming heroes in the end.
