Jumping on Oprah’s couch, preaching on about the negative effects of Ritalin,
and oh yes, there’s that whole Katie Holmes thing, too. Tom Cruise has been
everywhere this year, from his starring role in the War of the Worlds feature
film to his starring role in the Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes relationship. Cruise
has kept the rumor mill afloat as he has quietly moved away from his ex-wife
Nicole Kidman and started a new life with the much younger Holmes. The
Scientologist religion member and the former People Magazine “Sexiest Man of
the Year” has certainly put his name back out into the general public with his
latest stunts.

Though he is well into his 40’s now, Tom Cruise has hardly slowed down as he
continues to work the Hollywood red carpets and attend the hottest parties in
town. Recently though, many people have attributed his downright bizarre and
overzealous behavior on everything from falling in love to a midlife crisis to
a side effect of his religious affiliations. Regardless though, Cruise’s name
is firmly implanted on the lips of the media as they continue to speak about
him, his girlfriend, his children, his wife, and anyone else associated with
him.

In 2005, Cruise proposed to Katie Holmes, the 20-something starlet and former
star of the WB television show, Dawson’s Creek. He allegedly proposed at the
top of the Eiffel Tower despite knowing Holmes for just a few months before the
proposal. Kidman, for her part, has stayed out of many of the rumor talks and
continues her acting career without addressing much of Cruise’s behavior. While
talks concerning everything Tom have slowed considerably during the latter part
of 2005, there is no doubt that his upcoming marriage and any plans for future
children will again make headlines. His Scientology practices have also
apparently enhanced his life (and confused regular folks) as he moves up the
ladder of understanding at that church. Quite frankly, Tom Cruise will be in
Hollywood for years to come though regardless of recent rumors surrounding him.
