As ever the Movie world waits for no-one. If ever you feel bored or uninspired by what’s currently showing at the local multiplex, then you never have to worry for long because the next blockbuster is always just around the corner. As always there are some totally new movies coming our way hoping to become classics and also some old favorites, bone-fide classics already, returning to entertain us once more.

You can almost hear Santa approaching, so that not only means Christmas is coming but also another new Harry Potter film is too!! The fourth in the series, “Harry Potter and the goblet of fire” comes out on November 16th worldwide and is already guaranteed to be a huge hit. In it our eponymous hero helped by his faithful cast of friends leave Hogwarts for a while to take part in “The Qudditch World Cup”. Joining the regular cast are some top notch supporting players. And if that hasn’t wetted your appetite, then fear not because the fifth film, “Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix” is already in production and due for a late 2006/ early 2007 release.

Also returning for his fourth go at cinematic immortality is Indiana Jones. Or at least he is rumored to be, though the fourth installment has long been slated and is supposed to be already in production details are still somewhat sketchy. Just hold onto your hat and hope for the best is the only advice for impatient Indy fans I guess. Definitely coming soon is Spiderman, but don’t bother spinning your web to welcome him back just yet, he shan’t be back on our screens until May 2007. And the final superhero on the comeback trail is Superman, expected to be summer 2006’s blockbuster.

Hoving back into view, again for a summer 2006 release, are the Pirates of the Caribbean and their sequel “Dead man’s chest”. Details are as ever sketchy, but one very interesting rumor is that Keith Richards, famously the supposed inspiration for Johnny Depp’s character in the first outing, will be playing one of the pirates himself. Hopefully this one won’t be consigned to the too good to be true file!!

One of the expected hits of the late autumn and winter is “The chronicles of Narnia: The lion, the Witch and the wardrobe” a first big-screen adaption, though it was adapted for TV back in 1979, for a CS Lewis novel. It’s unknown yet if this will be the first of many but the Narnia tales stretched for seven books so there’s plenty of room for scope. You can bet your life if this is a hit then the other books will be transferred to celluloid over the next few years. A Harry Potter or a lord of the rings style smash hit is expected, two titles which share so much with Lewis’ tale. A good cast of top talent will help too. It’s almost as if the movie can’t fail!!

Many have been waiting for a Simpson’s movie to complete Bart & Co’s world domination. Well wait is almost over as the first Simpson’s film has gone into production. No details yet on when it will be coming out. But you can guarantee that when it does it will be one of the biggest box office smashes of all time.

Hoping for a similar smooth transition from small to big screen will be Wallace and the Gromitt with their October 2005 release of “Wallace and Gromitt and the were-rabbit””.

Again you wouldn’t bet against this being a big hit.

Actually in the case of the Jennifer Aniston starring “Rumor has it…..”, that is not entirely true as it’s a slight twist on “The Graduate”, as the rumor of the title pertains to a rumor that Anniston’s character is the granddaughter of the woman who the original novel was based upon. To bring matters up to date Anniston’s character finds herself embroiled in a history repeats itself type of affair.

Also bidding for the Christmas box office revenue will be “All the kings’ men” a politically idealistic based film starring Sean Penn and Kate Winslett amongst others.

Finally, November sees the release of rapper 50 Cent’s debut movie vehicle “Get Rich or die tryin’”, a semi autobiographical tale of a drug dealer going straight after taking up rapping. Following a very similair path to Eminem’s 8 Mile high, it’s hard to see this 50 Cent not getting rich at the box office!!
